I finally just opened the box they had sent me. It was supposed to be the rest of the set of DVDs. There was not one DVD in there. It was a box of six multi-pack DVD plastic cases! So I now have a bunch of cases for DVDs that I never received, yet I paid my "payoff" to them. What is the point? These people are amazing. I am just glad my credit was not ruined by them and that I am rid of them. It was an expensive lesson for me to learn.

  1. Wow, I think Living Scriptures isn't to blame on this one. It was YOU and your husband that signed up right? You signed a purchase agreement right? Do you honestly think that because YOU decided to change your mind later and are mad that you signed up that Living Scriptures is obligated to tear up that agreement and forget about it? What about the college student they paid on commission based on what you promised you would pay?

You obviously don't understand how a purchase agreement works. You see, under a legal contract you signed up for a certain amount of DVDs. It's not a subscription where you pay month to month and decide when you want to quit.

When they offered to let you off the hook for paying a third of what was left on the account that was simply to cancel on your agreement and stop the DVDs. You really thought that you'd pay one-third of the price and get the remaining DVDs? That makes absolutely no sense.

My family has these DVDs and loves them. I'm sorry that your family does not, but I think it's unfair to hold Living Scriptures to a different business standard than other companies just because you were ignorant in your purchasing decision. Just from reading your posts it's clear that, while it was expensive, maybe you did need a lesson on accountability.

    1. you are a dumbass. Ignorant is YOU and YOUR ignorant reply. They are a scam. They sucker people into these contracts. I myself have never bought them because it is a scam. I hope one day you buy something you regret and some ass replies to you the same way you did to this person.

  2. This company is very CROOKED! I signed up years ago and have been trying to cancel. We signed up at a fair. The salesman told me we only had to receive 3 dvd's by mail then we could cancel. I tried after the third one and was told we had signed up for $5000 worth of DVD's. Every time I try to cancel they want me to pay the buy out. Why would I want to do that? I am paying for nothing.... They are sending me to collections and threatening law suits now. I am soooo sick of this company and wish I had never even started anything with them. They are just out there to rip you off!! And to the RUDE person that responded earlier, if I had known what I was getting into I never would have signed up. They act like they are part of the church and tell you that you can cancel anytime. We were in a dark building where they have vendors set up for the fair. You could not read a contract in there if you wanted to. I will probably end up settling with them. At this point I could care less about my credit. I just want to be finished with them. I truly hope no one else ever finds themselves in this situation with this company.

  3. We signed up a year 1/2 ago when I was working. At the time I was battling medical issues and still to this day have been sick. Now a year and a half later my job is over and we don't have the extra income. I had asked the young man that came in if when my job is over could I cancel my contract. I was told yes at anytime. I told him no many many times because I knew that at any time I might not have my job. He showed me the paper work but I didn't see any place that said you cant cancel. But only later on did I see that you CAN cancel, just 1/3 of the price. I asked him so many times if I would have to pay anything to cancel. He lied every time. Now they have taken out that money every month and I have payed more in overdraft fees then the full amount that we signed up for. They have stopped it for 90 days but that's all they can do. I really wish I didn't do it but I did because I believe they are good for my kids but life happens. I didn't expect to get sick and almost die. Nor did I think that it would be to painful to go back to work. I understand they pay up front costs, but wondering if they could some how figure out how they don't have to pay up front fees. Maybe they could go with another production company that would set it up differently.
I knew I was signing up as a contract but I truly believed that I could cancel at anytime. I guess I could but there is a steep penalty fee that I don't have right now to pay. It would be nice if they could work something out as to take off the bonuses so then your 1/3 would be less. But with bonuses its high. And they wont take back the bonus DVDs. So if i didn't get all the bonuses I wouldn't have such a high priced amount. I would say get the DVDs if you want just don't do the bonuses and realize your paying this much for the complete set and just pay it off right away. Then you get all the DVDs without a monthly bill. It would of been cheaper to just payed it off with my credit card (if I had one) and just got the one set not the complete complete set. Now I know. Hope that others will read this before they buy and do it differently then all of us. Good luck everyone!!!
